Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:15AM

Future Consumer(up 2.94%), Hindustan Foods(up 2.03%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.79%), Emami(up 1.13%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.97%), Varun Beverages(up 0.80%), Zydus Wellness(up 0.79%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.28%) were among the top gainers.

Nestle India(down 2.48%), Hindustan Unilever(down 2.42%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 2.09%), Heritage Foods(down 2.06%), Britannia Industries(down 2.06%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 1.95%), Vadilal Industries(down 1.55%), Jyothy Labs(down 1.55%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 1.42%) and Dangee Dums(down 0.91%) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 47.55 points down at 17683.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 173.76 points at 59657.9 at around 11:15AM.

JSW Steel(up 1.98%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.97%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.61%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.6%), Tata Motors(up 1.42%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.29%), State Bank of India(up 1.09%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.08%), Grasim Industries(up 1.02%) and Eicher Motors(up 0.75%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Nestle India(down 2.47%), Hindustan Unilever(down 2.4%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.26%), Britannia Industries(down 2.05%), UPL Ltd(down 2.0%), Axis Bank(down 1.86%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.6%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.47%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.12%) and Bajaj Finance(down 0.99%) were trading in the red.
