Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:55AM

Vadilal Industries(up 9.56%), Future Consumer(up 8.03%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 4.56%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 2.54%), Jyothy Labs(up 1.54%), Heritage Foods(up 0.88%), Emami(up 0.76%), Dangee Dums(up 0.68%), Hind.Foods(up 0.49%) and Bajaj Consumer(up 0.28%) were among the top gainers.

Godrej Consumer Products(down 4.10%), Dabur India(down 2.66%), Prataap Snacks(down 2.47%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 1.87%), Nestle India(down 1.80%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.66%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 1.58%), Britannia Industries(down 1.53%), P & G Hygiene(down 1.04%) and Dodla Dairy(down 0.96%) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 84.75 points down at 16573.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 337.52 points at 55521.0 at around 10:55AM.

Tata Steel(up 4.53%), Hindalco Industries(up 4.35%), JSW Steel(up 2.7%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 2.53%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.13%), Coal India(up 1.93%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.99%), NTPC(up 0.96%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.6%) and Indian Oil Corporation(up 0.58%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 2.65%), Eicher Motors(down 2.4%), Axis Bank(down 2.39%), HDFC Bank(down 2.15%), SBI Life(down 2.05%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.88%), Nestle India(down 1.8%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.66%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.6%) and IndusInd Bank(down 1.57%) were trading in the red.
