Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed lower in the Monday's session.

Heritage Foods Ltd.(up 6.27%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(up 5.53%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(up 4.80%), Future Consumer Ltd.(up 3.85%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd.(up 3.23%), Hindustan Foods Ltd.(up 2.43%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(up 0.76%) and Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 0.03%) stood among the top gainers.

Hatsun Agro Products Ltd.(down 7.63%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(down 6.19%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(down 4.91%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(down 4.20%), Gopal Snacks Ltd.(down 3.54%), Prataap Snacks Ltd.(down 3.08%), Honasa Consumer Ltd.(down 2.53%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(down 2.24%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(down 2.14%) and JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.84%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 5.41 points down at 22119.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 112.16 points at 73085.94.

Bharat Electronics Ltd.(up 4.53%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 3.07%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 2.79%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 2.67%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.16%), Wipro Ltd.(up 2.13%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 2.1%), Trent Ltd.(up 1.97%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.95%) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 1.64%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Coal India Ltd.(down 2.44%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 2.41%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.39%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 1.81%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.79%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.54%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.53%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.43%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.37%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.02%) closed in the red.
