Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:25AM

Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd.(up 2.22%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(up 2.21%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(up 1.79%), Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd.(up 1.22%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.95%), Emami Ltd.(up 0.73%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.44%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(up 0.35%), Colgate-Palmolive(India)Ltd.(up 0.08%) and Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 0.03%) were among the top gainers.

Bikaji Foods International Ltd.(down 2.83%), LT Foods Ltd.(down 1.89%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(down 1.56%), Patanjali Foods Ltd.(down 1.53%), Gopal Snacks Ltd.(down 1.49%), Hindustan Foods Ltd.(down 1.38%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(down 1.31%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.28%), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd.(down 1.26%) and Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.24%) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 245.9 points at 23952.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 865.95 points at 79316.25 at around 10:25AM.

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.52%), Cipla Ltd.(up 0.4%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.37%), Trent Ltd.(up 0.35%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 0.03%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints Ltd.(down 3.01%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 2.15%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 2.14%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 1.95%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.93%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.74%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.7%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 1.55%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.55%) and Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.51%) were trading in the red.
