Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Monday's session.
Agro Phos(up 4.93%), Aries Agro(up 4.71%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 4.56%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 4.48%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(up 3.16%), National Fertilizer(up 2.53%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.38%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.18%), G S F C(up 2.08%) and Madras Fertlizers(up 1.66%) stood among the top gainers.
Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 8.76%), Sikko Industries(down 8.27%), KRISHANA(down 3.67%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 3.02%) and ZUARIAGRO(down 1.02%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 308.95 points up at 16661.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1041.08 points at 55925.74.
Titan Company Ltd(up 4.96%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 4.78%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 4.49%), Infosys(up 4.48%), Larsen & Toubro(up 3.78%), Tech Mahindra(up 3.63%), HCL Technologies(up 3.59%), Tata Consultancy(up 3.49%), Reliance Industries(up 3.48%) and UPL Ltd(up 3.43%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.21%), JSW Steel(down 1.74%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.73%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.46%) and ITC(down 0.06%) closed in the red.
