Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Friday's session.
Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 4.86%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 4.53%), Madras Fertlizers(up 4.32%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 4.22%), ZUARIAGRO(up 3.76%), Aries Agro(up 3.39%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 2.86%), National Fertilizer(up 2.65%), G S F C(up 2.41%) and Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 2.41%) stood among the top gainers.
Agro Phos(down 4.93%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 1.12%), Sikko Industries(down 1.07%) and Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 0.05%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 456.75 points up at 16266.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1534.16 points at 54326.39.
Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 8.13%), Reliance Industries(up 5.83%), JSW Steel(up 5.15%), Tata Motors(up 4.85%), Nestle India(up 4.77%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 4.74%), Tata Steel(up 4.32%), Cipla(up 4.31%), Larsen & Toubro(up 4.01%) and Britannia Industries(up 3.55%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Shree Cement(down 0.97%) and UPL Ltd(down 0.71%) closed in the red.
