Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Thursday's session.
Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 10.21%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 7.28%), Coromandel International(up 6.21%), ZUARIAGRO(up 5.54%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 4.99%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(up 3.97%), G S F C(up 3.38%), Agro Phos(up 3.02%), Sikko Industries(up 2.99%) and Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.31%) stood among the top gainers.
Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 0.78%) and Aries Agro(down 0.66%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 311.7 points up at 17287.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1047.28 points at 57863.93.
HDFC(up 5.37%), JSW Steel(up 4.56%), Titan Company Ltd(up 4.47%), SBI Life(up 3.94%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 3.38%), Eicher Motors(up 3.35%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 3.27%), Reliance Industries(up 3.26%), Asian Paints(up 3.11%) and Tata Steel(up 3.02%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Infosys(down 1.84%), Cipla(down 0.69%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 0.49%), HCL Technologies(down 0.22%) and Coal India(down 0.2%) closed in the red.
