Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Tuesday's session.
Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 6.75%), Agro Phos(up 4.93%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 4.91%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 4.67%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 3.80%), ZUARIAGRO(up 3.00%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.50%), G S F C(up 2.48%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 2.13%) and Aries Agro(up 2.06%) stood among the top gainers.
Bohra Industries(down 3.36%) and Sikko Industries(down 2.22%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 147.0 points up at 17233.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 477.24 points at 57897.48.
Asian Paints(up 2.93%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.64%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.46%), UltraTech Cement(up 2.22%), Titan Company Ltd(up 2.08%), Tata Motors(up 1.92%), Coal India(up 1.92%), NTPC(up 1.85%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.78%) and Eicher Motors(up 1.7%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank(down 0.3%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.24%) and ICICI Bank(down 0.03%) closed in the red.
