Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Tuesday's session.
Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 5.76%), Sikko Industries(up 4.99%), Bohra Industries(up 4.94%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 4.31%), Madras Fertlizers(up 2.70%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 2.53%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.01%), Aries Agro(up 1.58%), Coromandel International(up 1.50%) and ZUARIAGRO(up 1.40%) stood among the top gainers.
Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 4.90%) and National Fertilizer(down 0.20%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 264.45 points up at 17176.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 886.51 points at 57633.65.
Hindalco Industries(up 5.02%), Tata Steel(up 3.61%), Axis Bank(up 3.6%), ICICI Bank(up 3.54%), Tata Motors(up 3.13%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.94%), JSW Steel(up 2.77%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.76%), State Bank of India(up 2.45%) and Titan Company Ltd(up 2.38%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Cipla(down 0.64%), Britannia Industries(down 0.63%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.47%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 0.29%) and Asian Paints(down 0.26%) closed in the red.
