Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Tuesday's session.
The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(up 5.10%), National Fertilizers Ltd.(up 4.87%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd.(up 4.42%), Sikko Industries Ltd.(up 4.04%), Coromandel International Ltd.(up 3.91%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 2.91%), Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.84%), Agro Phos India Ltd.(up 2.16%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.11%) and Bohra Industries Ltd.(up 1.98%) stood among the top gainers.
Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.(down 1.78%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(down 1.46%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(down 1.08%), Aries Agro Ltd.(down 0.35%), Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.(down 0.19%) and Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd.(down 0.07%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 325.55 points up at 22834.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1131.31 points at 75301.26.
ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 3.22%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.19%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 3.07%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 3.06%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 2.88%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 2.56%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.52%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 2.48%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 2.46%) and Titan Company Ltd.(up 2.14%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 1.44%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 0.73%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.66%) and Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 0.01%) closed in the red.
