Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Tuesday's session.

Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 10.82%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 10.00%), Madras Fertlizers(up 9.99%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 5.90%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 4.82%), Aries Agro(up 4.26%), KRISHANA(up 3.89%), Rama Phosphates(up 3.73%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 3.67%) and ZUARIAGRO(up 3.45%) stood among the top gainers.

Agro Phos(down 9.94%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 4.95%), Bohra Industries(down 1.83%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 1.27%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 0.75%), Sikko Industries(down 0.40%) and Coromandel International(down 0.29%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 35.15 points down at 18385.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 103.9 points at 61702.29.

Tata Consultancy(up 1.01%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.96%) and Infosys(up 0.43%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, SBI Life(down 2.86%), Eicher Motors(down 2.23%), UPL Ltd(down 1.99%), Tata Motors(down 1.79%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.6%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.36%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.19%), NTPC(down 1.19%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.96%) and Larsen & Toubro(down 0.95%) closed in the red.
