Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Friday's session.

Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 20.00%), Madras Fertlizers(up 19.96%), Agro Phos(up 15.52%), National Fertilizer(up 10.40%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 6.12%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 4.90%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 4.81%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 1.10%), KRISHANA(up 0.70%) and Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 0.55%) stood among the top gainers.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 2.61%), Coromandel International(down 2.37%), ZUARIAGRO(down 1.97%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.81%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.67%), G S F C(down 1.14%) and Sikko Industries(down 1.11%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 145.9 points down at 18269.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 461.22 points at 61337.81.

Tata Motors(up 1.18%), HDFC Bank(up 0.48%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.3%), Tata Steel(up 0.09%) and JSW Steel(up 0.01%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 3.58%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 2.75%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.66%), Asian Paints(down 2.39%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.12%), State Bank of India(down 2.05%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.96%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.93%), Grasim Industries(down 1.71%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.67%) closed in the red.
