Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Wednesday's session.
Sikko Industries(up 4.96%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 4.95%), Aries Agro(up 3.75%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 1.75%), ZUARIAGRO(up 1.62%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 1.48%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 1.18%), KRISHANA(up 0.97%), G S F C(up 0.87%) and Madras Fertlizers(up 0.54%) stood among the top gainers.
Agro Phos(down 4.92%), Rama Phosphates(down 1.71%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 1.42%) and Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 0.29%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 31.2 points down at 17624.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 168.08 points at 59028.91.
Shree Cement(up 7.05%), UltraTech Cement(up 4.24%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.89%), Coal India(up 2.64%), Britannia Industries(up 1.64%), Grasim Industries(up 1.57%), SBI Life(up 1.54%), Cipla(up 1.02%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.84%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.8%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Motors(down 2.6%), Bajaj Auto(down 2.13%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.7%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.28%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.17%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.07%), State Bank of India(down 0.92%), Tata Steel(down 0.92%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.88%) and HDFC(down 0.85%) closed in the red.
