Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Wednesday's session.

Agro Phos(up 9.97%), Sikko Industries(up 6.30%), Madras Fertlizers(up 3.67%), National Fertilizer(up 2.10%), KRISHANA(up 0.99%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.94%), ZUARIAGRO(up 0.90%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(up 0.73%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 0.44%) and Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 0.38%) stood among the top gainers.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 4.78%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 4.64%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 3.67%), Aries Agro(down 3.02%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 1.37%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 1.27%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 0.99%) and G S F C(down 0.99%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 162.4 points down at 17038.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 537.22 points at 56819.39.

Hero MotoCorp(up 3.85%), Tata Steel(up 1.06%), Asian Paints(up 0.73%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.42%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.35%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.24%), Eicher Motors(up 0.23%), HCL Technologies(up 0.12%), Reliance Industries(up 0.1%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.04%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance(down 7.27%), Bajaj Finserv(down 3.94%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.85%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.44%), Shree Cement(down 2.28%), ICICI Bank(down 2.26%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 2.19%), Titan Company Ltd(down 2.19%), Coal India(down 2.04%) and Wipro(down 1.95%) closed in the red.
