Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Monday's session.
KRISHANA(up 18.08%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 12.03%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 9.84%), Aries Agro(up 9.78%), Madras Fertlizers(up 6.41%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 4.99%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(up 3.23%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 2.51%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 2.35%) and Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 1.57%) stood among the top gainers.
Sikko Industries(down 2.10%), Agro Phos(down 0.63%), ZUARIAGRO(down 0.36%) and Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 0.34%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 169.45 points down at 17117.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 571.44 points at 57292.49.
Coal India(up 3.26%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.28%), UPL Ltd(up 1.88%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.32%), HDFC Bank(up 0.44%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.24%), Cipla(up 0.17%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.16%) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.16%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Britannia Industries(down 3.53%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 3.17%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 3.14%), Grasim Industries(down 3.11%), Shree Cement(down 2.91%), Asian Paints(down 2.9%), SBI Life(down 2.9%), UltraTech Cement(down 2.86%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 2.76%) and Hindustan Unilever(down 2.42%) closed in the red.
