Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Thursday's session.
The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(up 4.77%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd.(up 3.48%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 1.87%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd.(up 0.36%) and Rama Phosphates Ltd.(up 0.14%) stood among the top gainers.
Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.(down 10.03%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(down 6.12%), Agro Phos India Ltd.(down 6.02%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 5.46%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 4.77%), Aries Agro Ltd.(down 4.20%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 3.69%), National Fertilizers Ltd.(down 3.64%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(down 3.39%) and Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd.(down 3.28%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 2.5 points down at 22545.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 10.31 points at 74612.43.
Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 5.67%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 2.7%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 2.56%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 2.11%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.02%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.7%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 1.24%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.21%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.19%) and Wipro Ltd.(up 1.1%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 4.72%), Trent Ltd.(down 3.12%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.21%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.98%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.85%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.8%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.66%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 1.64%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.52%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.49%) closed in the red.
