Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Monday's session.

Sikko Industries(up 4.98%) stood among the top gainers.

Madras Fertlizers(down 6.97%), National Fertilizer(down 6.40%), Aries Agro(down 5.45%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 5.00%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 5.00%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 4.26%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 4.05%), Coromandel International(down 4.02%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 3.88%) and Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 3.56%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 258.6 points down at 17154.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 897.28 points at 58237.85.

Tech Mahindra(up 6.84%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.64%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, IndusInd Bank(down 7.4%), State Bank of India(down 3.17%), Tata Motors(down 3.09%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 2.71%), Eicher Motors(down 2.65%), Bajaj Finserv(down 2.49%), Infosys(down 2.48%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.38%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 2.3%) and Axis Bank(down 2.29%) closed in the red.
