Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Friday's session.

Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.52%) stood among the top gainers.

Sikko Industries(down 4.97%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 4.78%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 3.96%), ZUARIAGRO(down 3.96%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 3.71%), Coromandel International(down 3.47%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 3.40%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 2.79%), G S F C(down 2.62%) and Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 2.56%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 302.45 points down at 17327.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1020.8 points at 58098.92.

Divis Laboratories(up 1.75%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.44%), Tata Steel(up 0.68%), Cipla(up 0.58%) and ITC(up 0.39%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 7.97%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 4.13%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.82%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 3.47%), State Bank of India(down 2.94%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 2.91%), Bajaj Finserv(down 2.85%), NTPC(down 2.79%), Bajaj Finance(down 2.75%) and IndusInd Bank(down 2.73%) closed in the red.
