Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Monday's session.
Sikko Industries(up 19.96%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 3.10%), Agro Phos(up 1.75%) and Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 0.21%) stood among the top gainers.
Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 5.32%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 4.93%), Madras Fertlizers(down 3.63%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 3.53%), Aries Agro(down 3.10%), Rama Phosphates(down 2.98%), National Fertilizer(down 2.97%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 2.95%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 2.92%) and Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 2.79%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 267.75 points down at 17490.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 872.28 points at 58773.87.
TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.89%), ITC(up 0.77%), Coal India(up 0.53%), Britannia Industries(up 0.38%) and Nestle India(up 0.06%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 4.54%), Asian Paints(down 3.81%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 3.62%), Tata Motors(down 3.48%), JSW Steel(down 3.25%), Divis Laboratories(down 3.13%), UPL Ltd(down 3.07%), Wipro(down 2.88%), Larsen & Toubro(down 2.86%) and Bajaj Finance(down 2.73%) closed in the red.
