Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Friday's session.

ZUARIAGRO(up 4.27%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 1.11%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 0.48%) and Aries Agro(up 0.04%) stood among the top gainers.

Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 4.23%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 3.93%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 2.63%), G S F C(down 2.44%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 2.29%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 1.92%), Agro Phos(down 1.92%), Coromandel International(down 1.48%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 1.44%) and Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 1.12%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 276.3 points down at 16201.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1016.84 points at 54303.44.

Grasim Industries(up 1.33%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.83%), Asian Paints(up 0.82%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.66%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.59%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.53%), Britannia Industries(up 0.41%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.29%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.15%) and Titan Company Ltd(up 0.12%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 3.94%), Bajaj Finance(down 3.92%), HDFC(down 3.78%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.5%), Reliance Industries(down 3.02%), Wipro(down 2.97%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.53%), Infosys(down 2.52%), Tata Steel(down 2.02%) and Tata Consultancy(down 1.96%) closed in the red.
