Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Monday's session.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 9.81%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 8.76%), Madras Fertlizers(down 8.58%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 7.86%), ZUARIAGRO(down 7.39%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 7.20%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 7.12%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 6.39%), National Fertilizer(down 6.24%) and G S F C(down 5.84%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 531.95 points down at 16842.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1747.08 points at 56405.84.

Tata Consultancy(up 1.05%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, JSW Steel(down 6.68%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 6.39%), ITC(down 5.59%), Tata Motors(down 5.49%), Tata Steel(down 5.39%), HDFC(down 5.34%), State Bank of India(down 5.32%), Shree Cement(down 5.27%), ICICI Bank(down 4.69%) and Indian Oil Corporation(down 4.51%) closed in the red.
