Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Monday's session.
Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(up 5.24%), Aries Agro Ltd.(up 4.40%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 2.64%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.54%) and Bohra Industries Ltd.(up 1.46%) stood among the top gainers.
Sikko Industries Ltd.(down 4.27%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd.(down 3.78%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(down 2.81%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(down 2.75%), Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd.(down 2.13%), Rama Phosphates Ltd.(down 2.01%), National Fertilizers Ltd.(down 2.01%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 2.01%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd.(down 1.90%) and Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 1.80%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 156.1 points down at 24680.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 572.07 points at 80891.02.
Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 2.86%), Cipla Ltd.(up 2.58%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.43%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 1.09%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 1.01%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.01%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.77%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.75%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 0.69%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.53%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 7.44%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 3.64%), Wipro Ltd.(down 3.54%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.63%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 2.46%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 2.02%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 2.0%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.81%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.62%) and Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 1.51%) closed in the red.
