Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed in the Wednesday's session.

Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(up 1.13%) stood among the top gainers.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.(down 7.51%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(down 5.32%), National Fertilizers Ltd.(down 5.30%), Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.(down 4.96%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(down 4.94%), Madras Fertilizers Ltd.(down 4.76%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(down 4.41%), Rama Phosphates Ltd.(down 3.93%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 3.87%) and Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(down 3.45%) were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 324.41 points at 23559.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 984.23 points at 77690.95.

NTPC Ltd.(up 0.28%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 4.34%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.22%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.09%) and ITC Ltd.(down 0.14%) closed in the red.
