Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: South Indian Bnk(number of shares traded: 17.52 crore), IDFC First Bank(number of shares traded: 5.64 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 5.34 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 4.53 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 4.14 crore), Vedanta (number of shares traded: 4.00 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 3.75 crore), Zomato Ltd.(number of shares traded: 3.21 crore), Tata Steel(number of shares traded: 2.93 crore) and GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 2.48 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:15AM in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 116.45 points down at 17887.3, while BSE Sensex was down 404.39 points at 59942.58 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 3.06 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 3.02 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.19 per cent), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.68 per cent) were among the top gainers.


While Infosys Ltd.(down 2.81 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 2.74 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 2.66 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.25 per cent) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.89 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
