Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

NEW DELHI: RIL(Rs. 2100.29 crore), M&M(Rs. 1205.83 crore), L&T(Rs. 1092.38 crore), Tata Motors(Rs. 1038.16 crore), HDFC(Rs. 1004.79 crore), Tata Steel(Rs. 996.65 crore), Hindalco(Rs. 919.88 crore), HDFC Bank(Rs. 874.47 crore), Axis Bank(Rs. 848.02 crore) and ICICI Bank(Rs. 736.32 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Friday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 87.7 points up at 16220.6, while BSE Sensex rose 303.38 points to 54481.84.

In the Nifty index, Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 4.74 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.94 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 2.48 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(up 2.31 per cent) and Coal India Ltd.(up 2.04 per cent) stood among the top gainers.


On the other hand, HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.67 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.62 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 1.57 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.52 per cent) and JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
