Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

The NSE Nifty index closed 1.75 points down at 24334.2

Nifty moved in a tight range of 82 points, and ended slightly below the psychologically crucial level of 15,700.

NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki(Rs. 1175.59 crore), M&M(Rs. 787.31 crore), UltraTech Cem.(Rs. 736.95 crore), NTPC(Rs. 596.18 crore), Power Grid(Rs. 542.33 crore), Schaeffler India (Rs. 467.67 crore), IGL(Rs. 430.39 crore), TVS Motor(Rs. 414.69 crore), Tata Steel(Rs. 410.72 crore) and Hindalco(Rs. 369.66 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Wednesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 1.75 points down at 24334.2, while BSE Sensex fell 46.14 points to 80242.24.

In the Nifty index, HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 4.01 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 3.52 per cent), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 2.24 per cent), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 2.07 per cent) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.49 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 5.58 per cent), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 5.05 per cent), Trent Ltd.(down 4.07 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 3.21 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 2.95 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
