Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

The NSE Nifty index closed 216.05 points down at 22488.65

Nifty moved in a tight range of 82 points, and ended slightly below the psychologically crucial level of 15,700.

NEW DELHI: HDFC Bank(Rs. 2555.22 crore), IRB Infra Dev.(Rs. 2458.83 crore), Mazagon Dock Ship(Rs. 2049.41 crore), RIL(Rs. 1884.33 crore), Tata Steel(Rs. 1815.78 crore), ICICI Bank(Rs. 1696.98 crore), Motherson Sumi(Rs. 1652.83 crore), Vodafone Idea(Rs. 1618.82 crore), SBI(Rs. 1475.86 crore) and Cochin Shipyard(Rs. 1406.89 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 216.05 points down at 22488.65, while BSE Sensex fell 617.3 points to 73885.6.

In the Nifty index, ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.07 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.71 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.44 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.39 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.14 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

On the other hand, Tata Steel Ltd.(down 5.80 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 3.55 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 3.47 per cent), Titan Company Ltd.(down 3.22 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(down 3.08 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
