Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

The NSE Nifty index closed 215.5 points down at 21522.1

India 10-year bond yield declined 0.40 per cent to 5.98 after trading in 5.98 -6.04 range.

NEW DELHI: Indian Renewable(Rs. 286.87 crore), Indian Railway Fin(Rs. 234.38 crore), NHPC(Rs. 226.89 crore), Bajaj Finance(Rs. 177.02 crore), IFCI(Rs. 148.22 crore), Infibeam Avenues(Rs. 127.68 crore), IRB Infra Dev.(Rs. 126.98 crore), HDFC Bank(Rs. 125.29 crore), YES Bank(Rs. 112.61 crore) and TCS(Rs. 103.98 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Tuesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 215.5 points down at 21522.1, while BSE Sensex fell 801.67 points to 71139.9.

In the Nifty index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.35 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 2.13 per cent), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.98 per cent) and Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 0.87 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 5.21 per cent), Titan Company Ltd.(down 3.39 per cent), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 3.03 per cent), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 2.84 per cent) and NTPC Ltd.(down 2.81 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
