Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

Retail and banking stocks rose 0.5 per cent and 0.7 per cent, respectively.

NEW DELHI: HDFC Bank(Rs. 1697.78 crore), Infosys(Rs. 1640.12 crore), TCS(Rs. 1507.95 crore), RIL(Rs. 1475.63 crore), Zomato(Rs. 1312.72 crore), Guj Mineral Dev.(Rs. 1273.09 crore), NMDC(Rs. 925.51 crore), MMTC(Rs. 900.34 crore), ICICI Bank(Rs. 748.59 crore) and SBI(Rs. 705.04 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 17.35 points down at 19794.0, while BSE Sensex fell 64.66 points to 66408.39.

In the Nifty index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.80 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.77 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.62 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.21 per cent) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.67 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.94 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.93 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.87 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.75 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
