Share market update: Most active stocks in today's market in terms of volume

The NSE Nifty index closed 43.1 points down at 17721.5

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(numbers of share traded: 5.49 crore), Suzlon Energy(numbers of share traded: 2.25 crore), GTL Infra(numbers of share traded: 2.10 crore), Alstone Textiles(numbers of share traded: 1.97 crore), Adani Power(numbers of share traded: 1.38 crore), NCL Research(numbers of share traded: 1.19 crore), YES Bank(numbers of share traded: 1.19 crore), Tata Steel(numbers of share traded: 0.89 crore), Zomato Ltd.(numbers of share traded: 0.61 crore) and JP Power(numbers of share traded: 0.60 crore) emerged top gainers in Tuesday's market in terms of trading volume.

The NSE Nifty index closed 43.1 points down at 17721.5, while BSE Sensex ended down 220.86 points at 60286.04.

On the other hand, Tata Steel Ltd.(down 5.11 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 3.98 per cent), ITC Ltd.(down 2.65 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.66 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.63 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
