Share market update: Most active stocks in today's market in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(numbers of share traded: 12.76 crore), YES Bank(numbers of share traded: 7.56 crore), MRPL(numbers of share traded: 7.26 crore), Suzlon Energy(numbers of share traded: 6.34 crore), Coal India Ltd(numbers of share traded: 5.93 crore), GTL Infra(numbers of share traded: 5.45 crore), Tata Power(numbers of share traded: 5.35 crore), NLC India (numbers of share traded: 4.66 crore), JP Power(numbers of share traded: 4.41 crore) and Adani Power(numbers of share traded: 4.37 crore) emerged top gainers in Tuesday's market in terms of trading volume.

The NSE Nifty index closed 215.0 points down at 16958.65, while BSE Sensex ended down 703.59 points at 56463.15.

On the other hand, Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd.(down 5.45 per cent), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 4.81 per cent), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 4.15 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 3.82 per cent) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 3.76 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
