Share market update: Most active stocks in today's market in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(numbers of share traded: 38.39 crore), JP Power(numbers of share traded: 9.20 crore), Tata Steel(numbers of share traded: 8.83 crore), GTL Infra(numbers of share traded: 7.37 crore), Karda Const(numbers of share traded: 6.74 crore), YES Bank(numbers of share traded: 6.21 crore), Zomato(numbers of share traded: 5.70 crore), Reliance Power(numbers of share traded: 5.32 crore), Suzlon Energy(numbers of share traded: 4.94 crore) and PNB(numbers of share traded: 4.22 crore) emerged top gainers in Thursday's market in terms of trading volume.

The NSE Nifty index closed 284.71 points down at 24199.35, while BSE Sensex ended 836.34 points at 79541.79.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 8.49 per cent), Trent Ltd.(down 6.47 per cent), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 3.66 per cent), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 3.15 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.52 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
