Sensex rises! These stocks surged over 5% on BSE

Mazhar Mohammad of Chartviewindia.in said technical indicators are turning mixed as the weekly MACD chart has generated a 'buy' signal, giving an edge to the bulls.

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Friday's trade as Dalal Street closed higher for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session up 632.13 points at 54884.66.

The top gainers included Medico Remedies(up 10.0%), G M Polyplast(up 10.0%), Hindustan Motor(up 9.99%), Standard Batt(up 9.98%), Glittek Granite(up 9.97%), Vivid Mercantile(up 9.96%), Spenta Intnl(up 9.95%), SMIFS Capital(up 9.95%), Gini Silk Mill(up 9.94%) and Manaksia Aluminium(up 9.92%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.

In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Apollo Hospital(up 5.43%), Tech Mahindra(up 4.14%), HDFC Life(up 3.47%), Hero MotoCorp(up 3.16%) and IndusInd Bank(up 3.10%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 182.3 points up at 16352.45.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 37 shares ended in the green, while 13 closed in the red.
