Sensex rises! These stocks surged over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Tuesday's trade as Dalal Street closed higher for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session up 198.44 points at 58664.33.

The top gainers included Maha Corp Ltd(up 10.0%), Onward Tech(up 9.99%), Ansal Housing(up 9.98%), Promax Power Ltd.(up 9.98%), Allied Digital(up 9.97%), Simran Farms(up 9.96%), Mukta Arts(up 9.96%), Vishal Bearings Ltd.(up 9.95%), Emami Realty(up 9.93%) and Dhanlaxmi Fab(up 9.93%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as JSW Steel(up 4.00%), Power Grid(up 3.94%), Coal India Ltd(up 3.75%), NTPC(up 2.57%) and Tata Steel(up 2.32%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 86.8 points up at 17503.35.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 40 shares ended in the green, while 10 closed in the red.
