Sensex rises! These stocks surged over 5% on BSE

NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Friday's trade as Dalal Street closed higher for the day.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session up 759.05 points at 79802.79.

The top gainers included SEL Manufacturing Co(up 9.99%), Indo Cotspin(up 9.99%), Saraswati Saree Depo(up 9.99%), Alfa Ica(up 9.99%), Ludlow Jute(up 9.98%), 3P Land Holdings(up 9.94%), Pudumjee Paper Prod(up 9.83%), Piramal Pharma(up 9.34%), Manaksia Ltd(up 9.25%) and Kalyani Steels(up 9.09%) which surged over 5% in today's trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Bharti Airtel(up 4.28%), Cipla(up 2.76%), Sun Pharma(up 2.69%), M&M(up 2.33%) and Adani Ports SEZ(up 1.93%) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty 50 index ended 216.95 points up at 24131.1.

Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 44 shares ended in the green, while 6 closed in the red.
