Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

In the Nifty pack, 24 stocks closed in the green, while 25 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 91.62 points up at 61510.58 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Olympic Cards(down 11.05 per cent), Promax Power Ltd.(down 10.00 per cent), JBF Industries(down 9.99 per cent), VEER Energy(down 9.94 per cent) and Interactive Fin. Ser(down 9.90 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 24 stocks closed in the green, while 25 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 23.05 points up at 18267.25.

On the BSE, Olectra Greentech, Suumaya Corporation Ltd., Sintex Plastics Tech, Jet Airways and Pace E-Commerce Ventures Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Achyut Healthcare Ltd., Jay Ushin, Concord Control Systems Ltd., Humming Bird Educat and Garg Furnace touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
