Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 417.92 points up at 60260.13 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Saboo Sodium(down 47.40 per cent), Promax Power Ltd.(down 19.77 per cent), Simplex Mills(down 17.53 per cent), Wherrelz IT Solutions Ltd.(down 16.84 per cent) and Safa Systems & Technologies Ltd.(down 14.89 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

The index closed 119.0 points up at 17944.25.

On the BSE, Saboo Sodium(PP), Wherrelz IT Solutions Ltd., Bajaj Hindusthan Su, DMR Hydroengineering & Infrastructure Ltd. and Jet Freight Logistic hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Advait Infratech, RO Jewels, Nava Bharat Vent., S Chand & Co and Lehar Footwears touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
