Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

In the Nifty pack, 37 stocks closed in the green, while 13 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 533.15 points up at 61150.04 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Wherrelz IT Solutions Ltd.(down 19.39 per cent), CWD Ltd.(down 10.00 per cent), Betex India(down 10.00 per cent), Diana Tea Co(down 9.99 per cent) and H S India(down 9.95 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 37 stocks closed in the green, while 13 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 156.6 points up at 18212.35.

On the BSE, Lerthai Finance, Aroma Enterpris, Vaghani Techno, Suvidha Infra and Mena Mani Industries hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Pearl Global, Alacrity Sec, Clara Industries Ltd., Menon Bearings and Panchmahal Steel touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
