Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

In the Nifty pack, 41 stocks closed in the green, while 9 stocks ended in the red.

Nifty moved in a tight range of 82 points, and ended slightly below the psychologically crucial level of 15,700.
NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 611.55 points up at 56930.56 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Amrapali Fincap Ltd.(down 19.65 per cent), Variman Global Enter(down 12.96 per cent), Milestone Furniture(down 9.89 per cent), MRP Agro Ltd.(down 9.32 per cent) and Alfred Herbert(down 8.77 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 41 stocks closed in the green, while 9 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 184.6 points up at 16955.45.

On the BSE, Janus Corporation, Vikas Multicorp(PP), Generic Engg, RCL Retail Ltd. and CarTrade Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Shamrock Industrial Company Ltd., Haryana Capfin, HP Cotton Text, Sandur Manganese and Kabra Extrusion touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
