Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 63.57 points up at 82634.48 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Abans Holdings(down 11.16 per cent), Athena Constructions(down 11.00 per cent), Gallops Enterprise(down 9.21 per cent), Trinity League(down 9.09 per cent) and Aditya Ispat(down 8.67 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 19 stocks closed in the green, while 27 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 16.25 points up at 25212.05.

On the BSE, LCC Infotech, IO System Ltd, Pooja Entertainment & Films, Vantage Knowledge and VMV Holidays Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Deccan Cements, Fischer Chemic, Bluspring Enterprises Ltd., Kalpa Commercial Ltd. and Mas Fin Services touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
