Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

In the Nifty pack, 36 stocks closed in the green, while 14 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 368.4 points up at 78507.41 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Sundaram Clayton(down 12.03 per cent), Trans Freight(down 10.06 per cent), Transgene Biotek(down 9.95 per cent), City Crops Agro(down 9.49 per cent) and Sharad Fibres(down 9.30 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 36 stocks closed in the green, while 14 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 98.11 points at 23742.9.

On the BSE, Akme Fintrade(India, Mamata Machinery, IGC Industries, Shangar Decor and Ozone World hit their fresh 52-week lows, while DJS Stock & Shares Ltd., Graviss Hosp, Ladam Affordable, Taj GVK Hotels and BN Rathi Sec touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
