Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

In the Nifty pack, 37 stocks closed in the green, while 13 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 102.44 points up at 80905.3 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Polymac Thermoformers(down 11.88 per cent), Jaihind Synth(down 8.92 per cent), Superior Finlease(down 8.78 per cent), Shreyas Intermediates(down 8.08 per cent) and ICICI Securities(down 7.44 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 37 stocks closed in the green, while 13 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 71.36 points up at 24770.2.

On the BSE, Divgi Torqtransfer, VSF Projects(PP), PS IT Infra, Grandma Trading and Sawaca Business hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Lyka Labs, Rane(Madras), Nelco Ltd, Bright Brothers and Panache Innovations touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
