Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

In the Nifty pack, 33 stocks closed in the green, while 17 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 285.94 points up at 81741.34 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Nat Plastic(down 12.43 per cent), Tanvi Foods(India)(down 10.68 per cent), Oceanic Foods(down 10.00 per cent), VMS Industries(down 9.99 per cent) and South India Paper Mills(down 9.00 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 33 stocks closed in the green, while 17 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 93.86 points up at 24951.15.

On the BSE, SecUR Credentials, Remedium Lifecare, Quest Softech, PS IT Infra and Grandma Trading hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Shivam Autotech, Haria Exports, JK Agri Gen, NTC Industries and Fiberweb India touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
