Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

In the Nifty pack, 41 stocks closed in the green, while 9 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 689.76 points up at 71060.31 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Supershakti Metaliks(down 13.04 per cent), Chandra Bhagat Pharm(down 12.59 per cent), Muthoot Capital(down 11.43 per cent), Premier Exp(down 9.98 per cent) and Duncan Engineering (down 9.48 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 41 stocks closed in the green, while 9 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 215.16 points up at 21453.95.

On the BSE, Digidrive Distributo, ideaForge Technology, Orient Bell, Astec Lifesc and Rajratan Global hit their fresh 52-week lows, while MTNL, Trans & Rectif, Ravindra Energy, IFCI and Sakthi Finance touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
