Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

In the Nifty pack, 36 stocks closed in the green, while 14 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 178.87 points up at 61940.2 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, SBL Infratech Ltd.(down 18.82 per cent), Chothani Foods(down 11.11 per cent), Latent View Analytics Ltd.(down 10.01 per cent), Sanghvi Brands(down 9.97 per cent) and DRA Consultants(down 9.60 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

The index closed 49.15 points up at 18315.1.

On the BSE, Radhe Deve, Galactico Corporate, SEL Manufact, Lyka Labs and Shalimar Prod hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Netlink Sol, VSF Projects, U H Zaveri, CCL Intnl and Atam Valves touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
