Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Tuesday's session

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 16.17 points up at 53177.45 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Manomay Tex India(down 19.04 per cent), Garware Synth(down 18.99 per cent), Gagan Gases(down 16.94 per cent), Aki India(down 15.69 per cent) and Gautam Exim(down 13.04 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 31 stocks closed in the green, while 19 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 18.15 points up at 15850.2.

On the BSE, Gagan Gases, Wardwizard Innov(PP), Electrotherm, Rajkumar Forge and Chambal Fertilisers hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Kallam Textiles, De Nora India, APM Finvest, Goel Food Products Ltd. and Vadilal Ind touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
