Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Tuesday's session

In the Nifty pack, 47 stocks closed in the green, while 3 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 477.24 points up at 57897.48 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, G G Engineering(down 19.40 per cent), Dhanashree Electro(down 10.11 per cent), RMC Switchgears(down 9.23 per cent), Indokem Ltd(down 8.97 per cent) and Shri Venkatesh Refineries Ltd.(down 8.91 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 47 stocks closed in the green, while 3 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 147.0 points up at 17233.25.

On the BSE, G G Engineering, RCL Retail Ltd., Janus Corporation, Naturite Agro Pr and Shyamkamal Invst hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Supriya Lifescience Ltd., Shiva Mills, Poojawestern Metalik, Jubilant Ind and Swasti Vinayaka touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
