Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Tuesday's session

In the Nifty pack, 42 stocks closed in the green, while 8 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 229.84 points up at 71336.8 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, PrismxGlobalVent(down 17.14 per cent), Shree Ganesh Reme(down 12.51 per cent), PC Jeweller(down 9.98 per cent), Akshar Spintex(down 9.95 per cent) and GCM Comm(down 9.95 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 42 stocks closed in the green, while 8 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 91.95 points up at 21441.35.

On the BSE, Suvidha Infra, Bajel Projects, Bansisons Tea, Manipal Finance and Wherrelz IT Solution hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Brooks Labs, Catvision Ltd, Intnl Comb Ltd, Gallantt Metal and Brady Morris Eng touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
