Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Thursday's session

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 78.94 points up at 57634.84 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Coastal Corp(down 20.00 per cent), Transpact Enterprise(down 19.23 per cent), Bampsl Sec(down 19.06 per cent), Global Offshore(down 12.61 per cent) and Simplex Infra(down 12.28 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 28 stocks closed in the green, while 22 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 13.45 points up at 16985.6.
On the BSE, Transpact Enterprise, Global Offshore, Simplex Infra, Mitsu Chem Plast and Brightcom Group hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Vishal Bearings Ltd., Planters Polysacks, S S Organic, Sunshine Capital and Empower India touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
