Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Thursday's session

In the Nifty pack, 42 stocks closed in the green, while 8 stocks ended in the red.

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 284.42 points up at 55681.95 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Omni Axs Software (down 15.32 per cent), Tranway Technologies(down 11.55 per cent), Orient Bell(down 10.64 per cent), Khemani Dist(down 10.00 per cent) and Glittek Granite(down 9.80 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 42 stocks closed in the green, while 8 stocks ended in the red.


The index closed 84.4 points up at 16605.25.

On the BSE, Adjia Technologies Ltd., Srestha Finvest, Gland Pharma, Seacoast Shipping and Prime Urban Dev hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Apt Packaging Ltd., Hindustan Foods, Northern Spirits, Leading Leasing Fin and CG Power & Ind. touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
